The study will start on June 2, 2026.
Here's how the study will work:
- At the start of the study, you'll answer a few onboarding questions.
- Each day of the study, you'll report what meat you ate.
- At the end of the study, you'll answer a few questions about your experience.
Can I still eat meat during the study?
Yes. The point of the study is to understand what happens when people try to reduce their meat consumption, not eliminate it entirely.
What will the impact of my participation be?
Eating a plant-based diet can result in significant health benefits, such as reduced risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers. In addition, plant-based diets can reduce environmental impact (land use, water use, greenhouse gas emissions) by up to 70%.
By participating in the study, you will help us understand how people can feasily reduce their meat consumption. We will open-source the data from this study so that researchers can analyze it and develop recommendations to help people eat less meat. We will share these recommendations with the general public and with future members of the Alliance.
Who can participate?
Anyone who is not vegan. You can sign up with a phone number from any country, or with email.
What if I'm already vegetarian or pescatarian?
If you're vegetarian, you can reduce your dairy and egg consumption. If you're pescatarian, you can reduce your fish consumption.

The Alliance is a global community of people taking weekly action to improve the world.
If everyone who participates in this study becomes an Alliance member, we could run an action at least this impactful every single week.
