Sign up anytime! Your 2-week period begins the day after you complete a short onboarding survey.
Each day of your study, reply to our texts or emails to report what meat, dairy, and eggs you ate. Alternatively, sign in here to report on our web interface.
The study has already started. If you sign up now, your responses may not be included in the research paper we publish. Of course, you are very welcome to take part anyway, and we would love to have you.
Can I still eat meat during the study?
Yes. The point of the study is to understand what happens when people try to reduce their meat consumption, not eliminate it entirely.
How will I report what meat, dairy, or eggs I ate?
You will submit reports by responding to daily study texts. You will also be able to log your animal product consumption through your plantbasedstudy.org account.

What will the impact of my participation be?
Eating a plant-based diet can result in significant health benefits, such as reduced risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers. In addition, plant-based diets can reduce environmental impact (land use, water use, greenhouse gas emissions) by up to 70%.
By participating in the study, you will help us understand how people can feasibly reduce their meat consumption. We will open-source the data from this study so that researchers can analyze it and develop recommendations to help people eat less meat. We will share these recommendations with the general public and with future members of the Alliance.
Who can participate?
Anyone who is not vegan. You can sign up with a phone number from any country, or with email.
What if I'm already vegetarian or pescatarian?
If you're vegetarian, you can reduce your dairy and egg consumption. If you're pescatarian, you can reduce your fish consumption.
Who are your distribution partners?
Our distribution partners are EarthDay.org, NutritionFacts.org, Switch4Good, Zero Waste Chef, and Sabrina Pare.

If everyone who participates in this study becomes an Alliance member, we could run an action at least this impactful every single week.
